Truck: 1918 International Dog: Basset Hound

I added the dog, truck and people to recreate what the scene may have been like. The first three bldgs near foreground are still there. But it is lonely. The spirit has been sucked out of the neighborhood as is with so many in this country. In this age of Television, computers and other "imprisoning" technology people do not venture out to the village shops as they used to.

Now we get in our car and drive to the huge strip malls to do our shopping. I try to capture what I can from a simpler time in our history. Ironically although technology has "shrunken the world" regarding communication , we seem to be further apart. If you look at all my paintings you would feel a togetherness we will never experience again. As an artist I wish to pay tribute to those days back then, because we will never see anything like it ever again.
